  1. Classic Cappadocia Highlights

We will pick you up from your hotel in the morning for a private, fully-guided tour of the following sites:

Kaymakli Underground City: Descend nearly 80 feet into this underground city dating back to the Hittites. Here we learn how and why such a place was built

Uçhisar Castle: Located at the highest point in Cappadocia, this rock fortress consists of numerous hand-carved rooms. From its heights are incredible panoramic views of the area

Göreme Open Air Museum: This complex houses amazing painted rock-cut churches, complete with centuries-old frescoes

Avanos: The town of Avanos overlooks the river of Kizilirmak (or Halys River, as Herodes called it in ancient times) and is known for its historic ceramic production. We stop for lunch here, sampling traditional Turkish flatbread (called gözleme)

Paşabag: Also called the Valley of Monks, this site contains the fantastic rock formations of the Devrent Valley

Red Valley: Here we bid farewell to the day by watching the sunset over this beautiful landscape.

Afterward, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
