Spend 8 days exploring the Aegean coast of Turkey. On this tour, we cover centuries of history, visiting the ancient Greco-Roman seaport of Ephesus, Hierapolis, the mosques and wonders of Bursa and Selçuk, Troy, the battlefields of Gallipoli, and, of course, the ever-mesmerizing city of Istanbul. This coastal tour is an opportunity to see some of Turkey’s highlights in a leisurely and relaxed manner; amp it up, however, with paragliding or ballooning over Pamukkale’s white calcium cliffs.
All our itineraries are for private tours. Our prices include hotels, airport transfers, taxes, entrance fees, professional guide, ground transportation via a private, air-conditioned vehicle, and breakfasts.
Lunches, dinners, and tips are excluded.
Welcome to Istanbul! Our representative will meet you at your port of entry and transfer you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours for exploration.
Depending on your arrival time, we can arrange for a daytime Bosphorus tour or an evening dinner cruise.
Istanbul, Old City
After breakfast, we embark on a fully-guided tour of the only city in the world that spans two continents. We visit the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, and the Hippodrome.
Today we travel to one of the most emotionally touching places in Turkey—Gallipoli—to see the WWI battlefields. Sites include the Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair Memorials, ANZAC Cove, Johnston’s Jolly Cemetery, the original trenches and tunnels, as well as the Nek.
Troy, Acropolis of Pergamon
Today we step further back in time, visiting the ancient walls of Troy. Following is a tour of the magnificent Acropolis of Pergamon, whose impressive temples and library made it a renowned cultural and political center of its time.
Absorb yourself in more history with a guided tour of Ephesus and a visit to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Traversing the marble streets of Ephesus, notable sites we will see include the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian, and the 25,000-seat amphitheatre. Afterward, we drive to the house of the Virgin Mary.
This morning we head to Pamukkale and its magnificent white calcium terraces known as travertines. Here we also tour the ancient city of Hierapolis. Amongst the ancient columns, take a dip in the hot springs that were used by the Romans for their therapeutic properties. In the evening, there is the option to watch a Whirling Dervish ritual.
Today we head back to Istanbul, on the way passing through rural Turkey and the city of Bursa to visit the famous Green Mosque (Yeşil Cami) and explore the Silk Bazaar.
After breakfast, our tour concludes, and we say goodbye to our new friends. You will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight.
We work only with small/boutique, high-quality, centrally-located, safe, and authentic hotels
